MAPPING PROJECT
The mapping project is about connecting lines, where I created a contour, abstract, single-line drawing of a woman looking down. I experimented with three different backgrounds with leaked in alcohol ink splotches that appears to be staining through the page. I illustrated the single-line art on top of a copy of a novel page from the book, “Anna Karenina” through Adobe Photoshop while exploring the variety of brush tools that I can use by manipulating the settings of the brush details.
The main idea behind the mapping project is to reveal the expressions shown the single-line art style as the story from where the page is from, “Anna Karenina” explores hardships of one’s own consequences where I ensured the illustration for this project illustrates that to my viewers. The three backgrounds enhance the illustration very well, but my personal favorite would have to be the last piece with the gradients of the pinks, blues, and purples as it provides a candle light effect where it demonstrates a story of a light inside you that is still alive but surrounding your light are the obstacles you must endure.
