EMERGING TECHNOLOGY ISSUES PROJECT

Graphic design works that address the theme of emerging technology issues where they both focus on the manipulation of social media on individuality and labels. The first piece of the camera is a photoshop work where I inserted a photo of myself in the camera lens that I designed to be melting out of the camera as they are the only subjects in the piece colorized compared to the other subjects and background that are black and white only; emphasizing on the theme that people uses social media to depict their own lifestyle through selections of what they wish to show, but everything else, the viewers have no clue what else goes on in that person’s life.

As for the second piece, I explored the idea of how society enforces labels on us to “fit” according to their expectations of the binary, stereotypical standards that they listed out. To create this piece, I used a photo of my eye where in both Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, I designed the vignette focus with the grains and the words, “Label” in cool colors surrounding my eye. As an emphasis of the overall design piece, I included the word, “Error” in red in the center of my iris to reveal to my audience that I do not fit in society standards and I refuse to as you all should too. I also created a mockup design of Instagram to explore more of theme I wish to address.
