JAMFEST SUMMER SHOW 2024

JamFest Summer Show took place at Webster’s Cafe as an entertainment during the State College Annual Arts Festival week. The live music performances were hosted by the Penn State student club, JamFest Club, a club that promotes local student artists and host performances at many exciting venues. The bands that I took photographs of for this show was Sunday Antiques and The Noise Complaint where both bands played a variety of music from rock to indie. I wanted to go out and practice event photography, where the club was very appreciative of my work and offer to compensate me to take more photographs for them for the upcoming fall semester. I had a lot of fun exploring ways on how to capture shots, including with the audience covering my shots or walking in front of me. I also had to be mindful of the lighting that conflicted with the artists themselves where I later edited the photos in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom for a couple of touch ups. Overall, it was an eventful, learning experience to learn strategies and techniques of capturing live performances, especially making quick decisions on when to take this particular photo or which side of the room I should be.
